Lehenga or Sari?
This is a common question that we get. There are few things to consider before making a purchase.
In terms of availability, Sydney has a lot of Shops that offer variety of Lehenga and Sari. As a customer, it's something that Sydneysiders don't have to worry too much about.
In terms of difficulty to wear, most people find Sari to be quite difficult to wear and maintain throughout the event. People generally say that draping Saree is quite complicated - especially if you haven't done so in the past. The drape may also get loose throughout the event so people may need to redo their drape every so oftern.
Lehenga on the other hand is much simpler. The blouse and skirt are easier to wear and it doesn't have problems with draping as it doesn't require it! The downside to Lehenga might be it's weight. Lehengas are considerably heavy compared to Sari so wearing it throughout the night might be uncomfortable to some.
Can I wear either to an event?
Generally, Yes you can. While Saris were much more popular back in the day, we see a shift toward Lehenga in recent times. This is due to multiple factors such as ease of wearing and maintaining it throughout the event, much more options in Lehenga especially in Sydney. Most events usually have equal amount of people Lehengas and Saris.
Should I buy or rent?
We may be biased but we believe renting both Lehengas and Sarees are the best option for most people. These days, most women wear Lehengas and Saree only once or maybe a few times.
